"Satisfyingly familiar pub classics and more formal restaurant recipes run side by
side on the Bear and Ragged Staff's huge chalkboards; add to this the occasional
fish specials and there's sure to be something that appeals. What's more, even with
such a big choice, it's safe to assume the cooking will be tasty and prepared with
sound culinary know-how.
In fact, it would be easy to take this country pub for granted: unremarkable on the outside, comfortable and traditional within, it seems almost too pleasant and unassuming for its own good, but fortunately the locals know a good thing when they see it. Service is friendly with no standing on ceremony: though the pub is divided into a classically styled dining room and bar, you can order what you like and eat it where you choose."
